Dear Viewers,

This Week in Northern California is on hiatus for a couple of months. The 21st season begins on October 9th.

Many of you have asked about our plans for the series, and you want to be certain we continue to provide solid journalism and insightful analysis. I assure you that our goals have not changed.

We plan to add coverage of arts and culture, and science, among other subjects, while maintaining a strong commitment to news and public affairs. Belva Davis will be back in the host and anchor chair, and we'll introduce new faces from time to time in the studio and in field-produced stories. We will continue to feature local journalists, but we'll also have flexibility to cover stories in different ways. We will update the set, and a new web presence will make it possible for you to view segments online, and interact with our producers and other viewers. We hope these changes will help us better serve you and our entire Bay Area community.

Belva and our producing staff will keep you updated on our progress via our newsletter. We'd like to hear from you, too. Please send us an e-mail or letter if you have questions or comments.

In the meantime, thank you for your support of the show and KQED. We'll be in touch.

Fawn Ring
Executive Producer
